A driven and accomplished graduate student at the University of Kentucky, specializing in History with a focus on Africana Studies. My name is Kayla Bush, my goal is to graduate as a scholar in African Studies specifically in the bluegrass state. Even more specifically, I’m focusing on the early life and settlement of Southern Woodford County. Initially this research was based around the ideology that Kentucky Straight Bourbon was a spirit that existed well before white settlers stablished Kentucky as a statehood. This work has revealed to me a special history about my own ancestors, uncovering the hoiden treasure that I’m a seventh generation Woodford Countian. I’m dedicating this webpage to the findings of my Caise Family members the maternal side of my family. Browse around as we uncover untold stories of my ancestors past.
